Habitat: Found only on mangrove roots in Bocas del Toro. Distribution: Panama, many Caribbean islands, Brazil. Natural History Notes: This species was identified as Herdmania momus in earlier literature. Depth: 0.5-1.0 m Characteristics: Individuals (4.0-5.0 cm long) are usually covered by encrustations and may be recognized by the iridescent bluish lining of the siphons. The tunic is soft and the body wall has many calcareous needle-like spicules. There are 8-9 folds in each side of the pharynx. There is one gonad in each side of the body; the left one completely inside the intestinal loop.
